Where Miracles Begin

“Miracles start in your spirit.

47When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.  49The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die. 50Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way. 51And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.

John 4:47,49-51

19 And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples.20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.

Matthew 9:19-21

Surely there is a future [and a reward], And your hope and expectation will not be cut off.

Proverbs 23:18 AMP

Someone once said that expectation is the breeding ground for miracles. In Romans 10 the Bible tells that when we believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths we can receive salvation. That is pattern that is set forth in the Word of God over and over. What we believe in our hearts will come out of our mouth and produce fruit. When you are standing for a miracle it is so important to put the Word of God in your heart and your mouth. Speak those things that be not as though they are. The miracle you need is already in you in seed form. When you water that spiritual seed with the Word of God you can see miracles.

Victory Action

The seed of a miracle is in my spirit. I will put my faith in God and be obedient to his direction one step at a time.

He Did It For Me

“Everything Jesus did, He did for us.

18As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. 20Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; 21That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 22And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 23I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

John 17:18-23

18-20 He was supreme in the beginning and—leading the resurrection parade—he is supreme in the end. From beginning to end he’s there, towering far above everything, everyone. So spacious is he, so expansive, that everything of God finds its proper place in him without crowding. Not only that, but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe—people and things, animals and atoms—get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the cross.

Colossians 1:18-20 MSG

Truly, truly I say to you, the one who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I am going to the Father.

John 14:12 NASB

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

Before the foundation of the world God knew He would need to make a great sacrifice to redeem mankind. Restoration of the relationship with His children was foremost on His mind when He sent Jesus to earth. Jesus was all God and all man. It was the only legal way for God to restore us to Himself. Jesus’ sole purpose was to shed His blood for us. He had all the power and could have called for the angels and removed Himself from the cross but He stayed for us. He walked on the earth for 33 years. He healed the sick and raised the dead. He preached the Gospel. He delivered those bound by demons. He did it all for us. His power is still doing it today.

 Victory Action

Today and everyday I will bow my heart in thankfulness to God for all He has done for me. I will not allow circumstances to distract me from God’s plan and purpose. I will stay in His presence and His Word.

Change Begins with Me

“Prayer changes things; the first thing it changes is me.

10Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

Psalms 51:10

14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

II Chronicles 7:14

Unfortunately we often choose other things over prayer. For example, worry won’t change things, put prayer will! Philippians 4:6-7 in the Message Bible reminds us, “Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.” When you start to practice the things you read in the Word of God you will change and your life will bear fruit of that change!

Victory Action

Today I will pray and watch God change my heart and all the other parts of my life.

Power of Bold Faith

“You can have a Positive Faith Attitude.

2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

 Romans 12:2

13I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Philippians 4:13

11 Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen.

Hebrews 11:1 (TPT)

It’s impossible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that he exists and that he cares enough to respond to those who seek him.

Hebrews 11:6 (MSG)

You know if your faith attitude isn’t positive then it isn’t faith at all! Everyday we are bombarded with negative information. We have a choice to put that information in our heart and let it breed a bad attitude and unbelief or we can choose to fill our heart with the Word of God and develop a positive FAITH attitude. Faith repels fear and unbelief.

 Victory Action

God’s Word is the source of positive faith attitude. Therefore, I will take time to renew my mind each day in God’s Word.

It’s up to me!

“Change begins with me.

14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

II Chronicles 7:14

18But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. 19Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

Acts 3:18-19

Wherever the Bible has been consistently applied, it has dramatically changed the civilization and culture of those who have accepted its teaching. No other book has ever so dramatically changed the individual lives and society in general.
– John F. Walvoord

Victory Decision

With God’s help, I will change one small thing in me each day. This will allow God to improve my world.

Positioned to Receive

“We are not making God do anything; we are making ourselves come into agreement with His Word.

5If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

James 1:5

14And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

I John 5:14-15

20 Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, 21 equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Hebrews 13:20-21 NIV

God is our Father.  He longs for us to walk in the fullness of everything He intends for us to have. Through Christ we have been seated in Heavenly places with Him. When we confess and pray His Word we are not changing His will for our life. He established that at the cross. We are enforcing our covenant with Him on earth. We can stand and pray the Word of God with boldness!

Victory Action

I will pray God’s Word and put myself in a position to receive God’s blessings.

Confidence

“If you can find your request in God’s Word, it is your move.

14And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

1 John 5:14-15

yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.

Isaiah 46:11

God’s will can be found in His Word. So when you find a promise in the Bible you can apply that to your life with confidence. God is not a liar. When He speaks things they happen. However, when it comes to God’s will coming to pass in our life, we have a part to play too. We inherit the promises through faith. We don’t just sit around and things fall into our laps! We must use our faith and line our thinking and our words up with God’s Word. The Bible says faith without works is dead. Don’t let your faith be dead! God promised, now it’s your move!

Victory Action

I know that God’s will and God’s Word are the same thing. I will find the Scriptures that cover my request. Then I will walk and talk in faith until I see my prayer answered.

Prayer

One source of strength in prayer is remembering and speaking forth past blessings.

4One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.  5I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.  7They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness.

Psalm 145: 4-5, 7

37David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.

1 Samuel 17:37

22 Everything you pray for with the fullness of faith you will receive!

We should never forget what God has done for us! He is faithful. When we go to God in prayer we should remember that He is good and has done great things for us! Rehearsing past victories can stir out faith for victory in our current situations. We can’t live in the past – but when God has been good – we need to be thankful! Psalm 100 gives us the roadmap for going into God’s presence in prayer. “On your feet now—applaud God! Bring a gift of laughter, sing yourselves into his presence. Enter with the password: “Thank you!” Make yourselves at home, talking praise. Thank him. Worship him. (Message Bible)

Victory Action

I will praise God for what God has blessed me with in the past and I will pray in faith believing today knowing He still hears and answers prayer.

God’s Word Works

“The Word works when we work the Word.

8This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

 Joshua 1:8

42 Then shall I have an answer for those who taunt and reproach me, for I lean on, rely on, and trust in Your word.

Psalms 119:42 (Amplified Bible)

By your words I can see where I’m going; they throw a beam of light on my dark path.

Psalm 119:105 (Message)

Dear friend, listen well to my words; tune your ears to my voice. Keep my message in plain view at all times. Concentrate! Learn it by heart! Those who discover these words live, really live; body and soul, they’re bursting with health.
Proverbs 4:20 (Message)
God gave us His Word to guide us in life. But He also gave us the responsibility of putting those words into our heart. If we go through life ignoring the Word of God then we will not experience the abundant life that God has planned for us. It takes work to put scripture into our heart. However, it is well worth the effort!

 Victory Action

Today I will take the time to put the Word of God in my heart through reading and studying the Bible. I will see victory when I stand on God’s Word in faith.

Faith Response

“The action of heaven is waiting on faith on the earth.

19And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Matthew 16:19

11Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me.

Isaiah 45:11

Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof: Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.  For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.10 And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.

Luke 7:6-10

Did you notice in the passage of scripture in Luke 7 that Jesus really didn’t “do” anything to heal the centurion’s servant? He didn’t go anoint the servant with oil. He didn’t call for the elders of the church. He didn’t lay hands of the servant. He didn’t even pray. Now those are all actions that the Word of God directs to do when dealing with the sick. But this particular passage shows us the strength of one person’s faith. The centurion understood authority, he was the commander of 100 men. Even being Roman, many of whom worshiped false gods, this man believed that Jesus had the power to heal. Even from a distance! He sent people to tell Jesus NOT to come to his house! He said just say the word and my servant will be healed. What did Jesus do? He spoke of the man’s faith with admiration to the crowd around Him. God moved in response to faith and the servant was healed.

Victory Action

I will not make God wait on me! I will build my faith through the study of God’s Word. I will step out in faith at His direction. As I do, God will respond to my faith and confirm His Word with signs following.
